To improve the impact of your organization’s access scorecards, keep it simple to assure the combined metrics tell the right story. It is easy to keep adding patient access metrics and charts to the scorecard as they are developed but this often confuses the recipient and blurs the metrics that drive change.
We recommend you develop “on-stage” and “off-stage” scorecards. The “on-stage” scorecard is distributed to the organizational leaders, is simple (less than 6 metrics), and is constructed to tell the story of access. This story can change over time as the organizational access goals mature. The “off-stage” scorecard has many metrics and is constructed for access leaders to manage their access operations.
